So what’s Fearless Expression?

Fearless expression is taking our lack of confidence, timidity and whatever else holds us back…stuffing it in our metaphorical pockets and putting it out there anyway. You know, exposing our creative work DESPITE the fact we are scared of the reaction we might receive.

There is great personal satisfaction and confidence building that results when we face creative challenges and overcome them. Overtime, our fears may not go away, but they no longer keep us from delivering the goods, that’s fearless expression and that’s what this blog is about.

Here are 10 principles I believe are fundamental to understanding fearless expression

1. Every person is endowed with their own unique variety of creative energy.
2. We need to express ourselves in creative ways as part of living a healthy life.
3. It’s our responsibility to learn to channel our special creative energies in personally meaningful ways and respect the diversity of expressions from others.
4. It is our responsibility to protect our creative energy from those who knowingly or un- knowingly attempt to diminish it, downgrade it or try to destroy it.
5. Creative expression is an enriching personal experience.
6. Life long learning feeds our creative energy and is fundamental to our personal well-being.
7. Creative expression and art is not necessarily the same thing.
8. Creative expression and creative thinking are interrelated.
9. The ability to draw a straight line is not a pre-requisite for creative expression.
10. The potential for creative expression goes beyond the visual and performing arts to include all forms of human activity.
